A few totally random, but strangely related things I've found or been informed of over the past few weeks. And a lot of my friends are warped enough to appreciate them, so... here we are.

In the fantasy realm, [livejournal.com profile] thor_cat was kind enough to e-mail me this link showing what the Lord of the Rings would have been like had it been created from role-playing games rather than the other way around. While doing some other searchs on LotR, I found The NitPickers Guide to the Lord of the Rings. While I think Peter Jackson's movies were wonderful, he does bring up some interesting points.

Down in the depths of silliness horror, we find The HP Lovecraft Search Engine Cthuugle. As well as being a nice parody of another familiar search engine, it has some nice links on the page. Be sure to check out Tales of the Plush Cthulhu.

And in the great beyond, there is finally good news for Star Wars fans. Unfortunately, the DVD release will *only* include the newer special edition releases. However, some enterprising (oh, wait, wrong universe) fans have put together a petition to show support for release of the orginals. I've sent along suggestions for LJ Icons in addition to their banners.
